Traveling to La Palma
La Palma in 2021 became famous for the eruption of the Cummar Vieja volcano, which unfortunately destroyed a part of the island and forced to evacuate thousands of people; The rest of this small marvel of the Canaries, however, is open to travel, and is really wonderful. Not only that, even the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja has provided a unique show. The eruption of the Cumbre Vieja
Palma is certainly not great, but has an incredible variety of unique tourist destinations. To admire them everything I recommend a rental car, which you can Search and book at this link and that you can also carry from Tenerife on the ferry.
Surely the palm deserves at least three days of travel, but in times of eruption you can also shorten the holiday to avoid breathing too much ash. Inside your itinerary you must certainly insert Santa Cruz de la Palma, the peak El Roque de Los Muchachos, the treks of the Parco della Caldera de Taburiente, the village of Candelaria, the beaches and natural pools. The La Palma Observatory on the Mount of Los Muchachos
The climate in La Palma is obviously the typical of the Canaries, but the clouds make their strange rides under the Aliseians and the result is that on this island the coniferous woods and that on the Roque de los Muchachos, at 2400 meters of altitude There are practically never clouds, so as to make this place the star paradise. What to see in La Palma
Santa Cruz de la Palma is the picturesque capital, where planes and ferries arrive from the other Canary Islands, in particular by Tenerife and from La Gomera <>>. The historic center of Santa Cruz is worth the journey, with colorful houses, flowered terraces and an unexpected liveliness in such an "isolated" island. As mentioned, admire the eruption of Cumbre Vieja from the Parish Sagrada Faille by Los Llanos is a unique and impressive show. The eruption of the Cumbre Vieja
The treking itineraries of the Parco della Caldera de Taburiente were closed for the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja, in 2021, but you could get by car to the Mirador de la Cumbreciche, from which you can appreciate the imposing walls of the former taburient volcano and the Coniferous forests. The landscape from Mirador de la Cumbrecita is therefore a mix between an alpine landscape and a volcanic panorama of the Canaries. To get to Mirador de la Cumbrita you need to book an online permit. The road to Candelaria
Candelaria is instead a village on the sea dug inside the western cliff of La Palma. The landscape here is truly spectacular: to get there, you have to travel a thousand bends going down to the ocean, where a gigantic cave opens.
Here in Candelaria there are some really picturesque houses, and you can comfortably make the bathroom, because the water is calm (and the ocean temperature between August and November is not bad at all). Candelary
To get to Roque de Los Muchachos you have to travel a long uphill road, among beautiful coniferous woods. The view, from up here, is one of the most spectacular of all the Canaries, and is worth the holiday in La Palma. Los Muchachos is one of the best place in the world to admire the stars, and in fact there is the observatory with a long slope of telescopes. Roque de los Muchachos
From Los Muchachos you can then admire the walls of La Caldera de Taburiente and the clouds below, as well as the infinite expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. In a travel itinerary to La Palma you can then add beautiful bathrooms to the beaches of Los Cancajos and in the natural pools of Barlovento. To conclude, I have to say that Palma is perhaps my favorite island of the Canaries, although it is small and little tourist: in short, do not neglect it into your vacation, especially if yours Travel passes by Tenerife, which is very well connected with the palm.
