The Alps are the main attraction for tourists who visit the Trentino Alto Adige , but there is also something else in this magnificent region. Whether it's a visit to the weekend or a longer holiday, Trentino Alto Adige, like all Italian regions, will pass you on.
Here are some trips we suggest:
- The Pale del Ponale .
- The hiking itinerary for Mount Altissimo .
- Torbole, shore of the Garda, strong and trenches .
For everything else ... read below!
The cities of Trento and Bolzano have the characteristic To include beautiful historic centers in a wonderful landscape context. Trento deserves the tour for the palaces, the Duomo, the castle. In Bolzano you have to see churches and squares, but its tourist fame derives even more from the Christmas markets. The same speech is valid for Merano , which has also acquired importance as a spa town. In addition to historical centers, of Rovereto you need to see the castle, and of Vipiteno ... the location! In fact, further north of so, in Italy, you can't go.
Le Dolomiti are obviously the main destination in Trentino Alto Adige. For those who love practicing outdoor activities in the mountains, they are paradise, but there is no need to make particular efforts to contemplate them throughout their splendor. In fact, there is a long list of fairy tale countries immersed in sublime landscapes, such as Moena, Selva, Corvara, San Martino di Castrozza . The most glamorous location, and even the busiest, is probably Madonna di Campiglio . Paradisiache Val di Fiemme , Val di Fassa , Val Gardena and Val Badia , as well as the famous itinerary of the 4 steps ( Pordoi, Gardena, Sella, Campolongo ), can be conveniently traveled by car (although it is trekking that the landscapes are better appreciated). The three Tops of Lavaredo are among the most impressive peaks of the Alps.
The northern shore of the Lake Garda , is in Trentino: a small portion, but to see, with Riva del Garda and beautiful walks. There are many other alpine ponds, such as the wonderful Lake Braies .
this is only a brief synthesis of the wonders of Trentino Alto Adige, which we hope for "reminder" of how many places we should visit. .. if we haven't done it yet!
Trentino Alto Adige offers opportunities to do so many different activities during a holiday in the region, obviously focused on the mountain, but not alone. For example, for the spas and Christmas markets just stay in the village, while to go to eat dumplings in a mountain retreat you can also take a ski lift, without making too much effort.
Who loves sports, though, has spoiled for choice. The northern shore of Lake Garda is a paradise for windsurfing and kitesurfing, while arc is one of the best places in the world for climbing. On lake garda the Pale trail described here , The itinerary for Mount Altissimo and the paths Towards strong and trenches around Torbole are wonderful and highly panoramic!
The trekking itineraries in Trentino Alto Adige are so many that it is impossible to list them all, but in addition to those in the places mentioned in the paragraph on the "What to see in Trentino", we like to remember the paths on the places of the First World War. In beautiful mountain scenarios, through rocky walls to peak like that of the Lagazuoi , speeches dug into the rock and tunnels passing that combine natural beauty and history.
with regard to skiing, obviously, the Fama of the Dolomiti Superski speaks by itself, with the spoiled of choice by quantity of slopes.
Enogastronomy enthusiasts can eat in shelters with dumplings and pork shanks, drinking teroldego (red wine from the region) and tasting the delicious truths of Trentino Alto Adige.
When to go and move to Trentino Alto Adige? The answer to these questions is linked to what you want to do and see. To see places and cities and to trekking, late spring and summer are the best times. You can reach the Trentino valleys also with public transport (trains and buses, even ski lifts), considering also the fact that car traffic has also increased too much in recent years. For valleys and the least famous villages, a car is more comfortable, but for the rest the Dolomites are well organized.
