One of the most recognizable peaks of the Ligurian Apennines, Mount Ramaceto has a long, panoramic crest that can be reached by different paths. On this page we describe the best trekking itineraries to walk up to 1345 meters away from the summit, even with snowshoes when there is snow.
The Ramaceto is located in the hinterland of Chiavari and is a watertight between the Val d'Aveto and the valleys that descend towards the sea, in particular the Val Fontanabuona. Let's start with the classic itinerary, the one from Ventarola, which is also the most suitable route with snowshoes since it is on the northern slope, where snow is more likely, and is also the shortest and least steep path.
Ventaro is a small village along the river of the same name, which is a tributary of the Aveto. The country can be reached in about an hour's drive from Chiavari. From here, you walk on a well-marked path that follows the stream. In spring we pass through beautiful meadows, but even in case of snow the atmosphere is idyllic.
The first stretch of this itinerary is in falsopiano; You then enter the woods, always proceeding on the path along the stream, as long as you are in front of the steep slope that leads to the ridge on which the high Via dei Monti Liguri passes.
This crest colleague, with various ups and downs, several panoramic mountains, including the Pagliaro, which can be reached conveniently by a priy.
All this to say that at the Ramaceto you can also get to walk on the upper Via dei Monti Liguri (by the way, read also by Zatta and pccile ), and that This can also be reached by a priious or other villages of the Val d'Aveto (obviously the journey stretches! But it is worth enjoying the views from the upstream).
Returning to talking about the trekking route from Ventarola to the Ramaceto, it can be said that after about four kilometers of walking and three hundred meters in height he arrives on the ridge, to Feia's mouth, and that from here you can continue along the high way of the Ligurian mountains towards the Ramaceto.
This last stretch of path in the ridge is about a kilometer long, but this is still two hundred meters of rather steep drifest. The arrival at the top give great views.
Another spectacular trekking to get to the top of the Ramaceto is the one that from Cyclo meadows leads to the summit going up on the south side. In this case the itinerary is steeper and more tiring, but it is also all illuminated by the sun.
The path departure is located near the agriturismo da or cason de larvenvo (let go from Google Maps). After passing the agriturismo, after a few curves the paved road ends and you can start walking. The path is divided into two: a trace should be straight to the summit, but it is lost, while the other proceeds to the right.
Here I followed the path that was lost and in the end I arrived at the top of the Ramaceto going straight for straight on the maximum slope, rubbing myself between the bushes! Beautiful, but uncomfortable.
If you go straight to straight you walk for a couple of kilometers, while with the path on the right the development is double, but the journey time, if you do not run, still touches the two hours in both cases, given the height difference of 570 meters. Arriving in the ridge you can admire the usual wonderful views.
To descend, you can take the whole crest of the Ramaceto, then take the path to the Riding Pass, deviating at a certain point to the left towards the meadows of Cyclo. Here the paths are different (the trails on the app Maps.me help to detect them): we have traveled a very nice one towards the meadows of cycro Full of brambles.
In short, from a slope or on the other, with snow or without, Monte Ramaceto deserves a few beautiful excursion. For photos and descriptions of other bei Trails and snowshoeing in Val d'Aveto click here . Good trips!
