The hiking itineraries of the Beigua Park allow you to admire incredible views of Genoa and the Ligurian Sea, but also towards the Po Valley and the Alps; We describe here a trek with snowshoes on the paths between the strong Jeremiah, the Passo del Faiaro, Mount Reixa and the Argentea refuge.
The Road of Passo del Faiarello (which is located at 1050 meters of altitude) is the most convenient point to reach the peaks of the Beigua Park. This road can be reached by Genoa, passing by apples, or from Masone: in winter the second option is better, because usually the road is cleaned up to the pace, while we, not knowing it, we have passed from apples we had to stop 8 kilometers from the Faiarello. Not bad, because this allowed us to admire the strong snowy jeremiah.
To get to the fort you can take a small detour from the street.
among other things, walking on the snowy faial road gives unique sensations, because it looks like a high mountain pace, but with sea view, and the views of Genoa and the promontory of Portofino are amazing, rendered again More beautiful from snow-covered trees - or, better, whitewashed by galaverna, sisteric ice deposits.
Walking along the road then passes under the tooth BRIC (on which you can go up with a detour) and you can also take some cuts in the woods. Arrived at the Passo del Faiaro, we wore the snowshoes and we went through the trees towards the Top Faiarello and Mount Reixa, to whom you arrive after a kilometer and a half of path and one hundred and hundredth meters of height difference (a half-hour walk) .
The panoramas from the anticima of the Reixa and from Mount Reixa are spectacular because these snow-covered top, at 1183 meters of altitude, is located very close to the sea, providing spectacular snow images with for the Ligurian Sea background. On the Tarsi days, with snow-capped peaks, it is paradise for photo enthusiasts.
We are here in the Beigua park, which is the highest mountain in the area, reaching 1287 meters of altitude. Following with snowshoes the high Via dei Monti Liguri, follow the panoramic crest that from the Reixa goes to Monte Beigua, with a series of upscale and top views of Genoa and the promontory of Portofino, the Ligurian Sea, the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente, the Po Valley and the Alps in the background. A highly recommended itinerary!
We from the Reixa we walked to the Argentea shelter, in front of the homonymous Monte Argentea, above Arenzano, passing through Rocca Vaccaria, Rocca del Groppazzo and Rocca Crocetta. The route takes place on a sort of plateau overlooking the sea, in the sense that the various peaks that meet are always between 1050 and 1200 meters of altitude, and therefore do not therefore require the overcoming of large height differences or steep crests.
To the south there is the Ligurian Sea, and in different points you can see the coast of Cogoleto and Arenzano, while north the Beigua park slopes gently towards the plain.
Between Monte Reixa and the Argentea refuge passing through the Rocca Vaccaria you walk, or snowshoe, for less than 3 km, an hour of path throughout. As you approach the silver refuge, they are always better at sea Bosso Noli and the islet of bergeggi, and if there is good visibility yes See also the Gallinara island in front of Albenga.
The Argentea refuge is located in front of Monte Argentea which, 1082 meters high above sea level, stands out in front of the Ligurian Sea. Like the whole area, even here the views are wonderful, but the refuge seems to be always closed separately and on summer weekends. We opted for a picnic, and we rarely ate sandwiches in front of so beautiful landscapes.
From the Argentea refuge to Monte Beigua there are another 7 km of walking, slightly uphill: we could not follow them on this occasion, but the views are always amazing and also in this case the itinerary is simple as well with snowshoes: there are no Strong differences. Instead we returned back to the same path, admiring other incredible views from the trail from Genoa and the Ligurian Sea, as well as snow-capped peaks.
In the photos you can't see well, but live, beyond the mist over the Po Valley, it is possible to admire the Alps too. On that day serene, even if not very clear, we could distinguish for example the triangles of the Matterhorn to the north and that of the Monviso To the west, which is obviously lower than the Matterhorn but compared to the mountains around is even more impressive.
Arrived at the Passo del Faiaro, we raised the snowshoes and we went down the road to the strong Jeremiah and our car: a very long tour that day, but the comfort of the provincial road allows you to get to the dark car, thus enjoying the whole Day and above all by admiring an amazing sunset.
