Recco trail - Caravaggio - Camogli

From the Ligurian Sea to a panoramic sanctuary ... and return
Travel itineraries, hiking, kayaking and sailing in Italy and in the world

Among the citizens of Liguria, Recco is more known for the cheese focaccia that for beauty and trails, but actually offers the opportunity to do this wonderful day trek towards the Sanctuary of the Madonna of Caravaggio. From a certain point of view, it is also nice to see this hiking itinerary like the slow and panoramic way of going to Recco to Camogli.

Exit the Recco station (trains are the best solution to move between the Trails on the sea of Liguria), descend to the right, go under the railway bridge and start clinging up for creas and streets. (The Creze are the typical Ligurian lamps that come to the sea from the hills).

This trek of a day part of villas and small fields; While you go up to see the first panoramas on the Gulf Paradise and the promontory of Portofino.

As you go up, the view becomes wider. The path is always comfortable and when it becomes a large lawn, the panorama also spaces on the Gulf of Tigullio, with Rapallo in the foreground, the cliffs between Rapallo and Zoagli, so the cities of Chiavari and blackboard and, in the distance, the Sestri peninsula Levante.

The last stretch is instead a steep road - staircase; The last effort is repaid from arrival to the imposing sanctuary.

The Council, at this point, is to go to Camogli, both to change, and because it is one of the most beautiful places in Liguria, and because, when the first houses begin, the path is lost between a thousand Cruze, passing into truly picturesque corners between stone walls, luxurious villas and lush vegetation.
The arrival in Camogli at sunset, then, is the perfect conclusion for a trekking.
