Travel itinerary
Saint Lucia is part of the islands Overall (Windward Islands), the Caribbean islands perhaps more wild and spectacular. It is a luxuriant and dominated island, but there are also expensive resorts and tourism is very important.
For the independent traveler the rental of a car to explore the numerous beaches and the interior can be one Good solution. We visited Saint Lucia on a sailboat, coming from Martinique.

Soufrière and the Pitons
Soufrière is a fundamental town in a travel itinerary to Saint Lucia. It is in fact a characteristic country on the coast a stone's throw from the Pitons, the two twin mountains that rise from the sea in a way to say the least impressive.
From Soufrière leave the trips not only for the Pitons but also for the interior in Which can be admired natural spas and waterfalls in the middle of the jungle.

At the foot of the Pitons the sea is often very clear and offers the possibility of snorkeling and fantastic dives.
We moored both under the "little" Snape that at Chantemerle, a little further north. Here too the snorkeling is excellent (among the corals he also swims a turtle) and canoeing you can pay on a splendid sea up to Soufrière. There is also a cave between the cliffs, almost a slot, with thousands of bats.

Other destinations
to the north of Soufrière There are several beaches at whose shoulders rise palm trees and verdant mountains. Marigot Bay is a very closed bay (as well as a Hurricane Hole where to shelter from the hurricanes) and very well maintained, where various tourist facilities arise and from which various beaches can be reached. The possibilities of wild itineraries between jungle and isolated beaches abound, in Saint Lucia: bring a machete and you will experience authentic adventures :)

less attractive is Rodney Bay, in the northern end of Saint Lucia. In this bay there are some beaches, a rich resort, a well-stocked marina and, in the middle, a country of wooden houses full of bars that produce deafening music. Visiting him at the time of sunset, it seemed the classic place to live a ski experience (suffered, I intend), but it was also a very nice and characteristic place.
