Vernazza is perhaps the most fascinating village of the Cinque Terre, as well as the starting point of some spectacular trails. This page explains how to reach Monterosso, Corniglia or the Madonna of Reggio (or maybe take a trek along all the Cinque Terre) and show you some photos to get your sumptive ... starting from Vernazza and its photogenic marina!
Starting from Ponente, Vernazza is the second of the Cinque Terre after Monterosso and before Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore (instead connected by the Trails described here ). The most popular than the hiking itineraries that crossing it is the blue path that connects all five lands: the Monterosso Vernazza section is probably the most beautiful and challenging. The other trekking described on this page, on the other hand, pass higher and are much less crowded.
The blue trail is charged (the ticket costs Euro 7.5; alternatively, there is the Cinque Terre Card which also includes train trips). Starting from Vernazza, it is easy to follow the signs for Monterosso: it runs along the cemetery and is climbed quickly up to 150 meters of altitude. The views are clamorous.
Continue on various ups and downs and after a total of a couple of hours (for 3.6 km of itinerary) you arrive in Monterosso, in the oldest part of the village. If you are Liguri and you are therefore a little desire to pull out the wallet, you can try to take the path during the closing times of the ticket office, that is, in summer, after 6pm. The method is not infallible, but still allows you to admire the panoramas With sunset light.
As with the other villages of the Cinque Terre (and in general of the Ligurian coast) the train is the best way to reach Monterosso or Vernazza, so if you want to go back, you can conveniently follow Monterosso's beautiful walk and arrive in a moment at the station railway.
Alternatively, you can consider other paths: above each of the Cinque Terre there is a panoramic sanctuary and these are connected by just as panoramic streets, for more free!
Above Monterosso is the sanctuary of Soviore, reachable from the village with a path. From here, you can walk along the sanctuarium route to the Madonna of Reggio, above Vernazza. Along the way, you can enjoy sensational views of Vernazza and the Cinque Terre coast.
From the Madonna di Reggio it is possible to get off at Vernazza through another path (free); Alternatively, you can continue to the sanctuary of Our Lady of the Grazie, above Corniglia ... a great idea, even to admire some incredible views of the village of the Cinque Terre.
Corniglia and Vernazza are otherwise connected by the blue path (always SVA2) for a fee that, if it is not interrupted by landslides, is less tiring than the one for Monterosso and takes about an hour and a half.
Not for this, obviously, it should be faced with the flip-flops or shoes with heels (yes, it can happen to see tourists under these conditions!: D).
Obviously, the hiking itinerary covering all the five lands deserves in its entirety and can be traveled on a fairly intense trekking day, but spectacular. However, this article is dedicated to Vernazza and then we still put a couple of wonderful images of its marina.
Another wonderful itinerary in the area is the path that from Riomaggiore, the most eastern of the Cinque Terre, goes to Portovenere passing through monesteroli. Read Here in this trek during the most beautiful in the world . Alternatively, it is a great idea, perhaps even more spectacular, walking The Costa delle Cinque Terre in canoe .
This is the map of the paths between Monterosso and Vernazza.

Finally ... This itinerary is one of the many trails between Genoa and Tuscany, all paths and all described to this Page On the trekking in Liguria . To travel the entire Riviera from West to East, the previous stage is the one from Levanto in Monterosso , while the next route leads to walk along the other countries of the Cinque Terre: Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore .
