From Riomaggiore to Portovenere ...

A very convenient trail (with lots of bars-like tools and rings to make even more gymnica) goes from the telegraph to Sant'Antonio (Av5t, Alta Via delle 5 Terre). Arrived at the Valico di Sant'Antonio, the itinerary for Portovenere continues at altitude, but we propose to go down to Casotti and Fossola, from where we will walk towards Monesterol. Thus abandon the av5t path and take 534.

The descent takes place first in the woods, until the sea view is opened, and what a sight! The trail crosses terraces cultivated with vineyards. The leaves, autumn, take a wonderful yellow color that stands against the blue of the sea.

Shortly after having passed Casotti, turn left and cross the scattered houses of Fossola ... he stops going down and continues to the coast along the path 535 to the staircase that, enough to precipice, drops to Monesteroli (path 536) . It is a difference in height of about 300 meters all in irregular steps. The views, however, repay fatigue.

We cross characteristic buildings and terraces partly cultivated until you reach the sea, where the water is always clear (if there is no wave). If you are still not convinced that it is the most beautiful path in the world, dive and refresh your ideas!

The problem is that the monesteroli rises for the same 300 meters of steps will make you change your mind. You will direct you: "The most fascinating walk in the world cannot be so tiring." Once the papers of Monesterols are completed, you still go up along the path 535 you also encounter some other steps (but less steep) up to Campiglia, at an altitude of 401 meters. In this small town you can drink a panoramic coffee or a refreshing beer. From here, other splendid staircases come down to the sea: the Sentiero 535 + 504 towards Sciara and the beach of the cantuns described here , and the itinerary 528 towards the rocky beach of the perch. Obviously you can't exaggerate for the day, the proposed trekking is already long enough in itself and you can keep these paths for another trip to prevent the most beautiful walk to the world to be transformed into an unprecedented strap.

From Campiglia the classic Riomaggiore itinerary is resumed - Portovenere along the High Via delle Cinque Terre. Treatment stretches in the woods where the path, high over the sea, has beautiful views of sunsets and palmaria cliffs.
