Cervo is a small village on the sea with a perched medieval citadel which is among the most picturesque in Liguria. We are in the province of Imperia, and the hill between deer and Andora presents the most panoramic paths on the sea of the area. The trekking itinerary we describe on this page is therefore a spectacular way to get to discover the fascinating deer.
The departure on the western side of Andora is going up to the houses to the cemetery (if you are in the car you can also leave directly from here). The panorama of the Crocetta allows you to admire the sea in front of Andora, appreciated by summer bathers and surfing enthusiasts, windsurfing and kite when there are wave and wind.
From the cemetery you follow the road on the coast towards the church of the Holy Trinity and the ancient houses of Rollo. From the church you take a path that goes up to the right and continues first on the ladders and then on a wide path that goes up towards the antennas of the Cervo hill (the symbol indicating the itinerary is the red square).
The wide panoramic path, almost a dirt road, salt towards the antennas, but when you practically arrived at the Cervo hill there is a junction on the right that allows you to walk towards the Mea hill, a crossroads that is absolutely worth taking .
The views open both on Andora and deer and in about ten minutes you arrive at a nice panoramic point where you waved an Italian flag. From here you can admire the whole coast, up to Albenga and Gallinara, and the surrounding mountains up to the snow-covered Alps. You can then continue for another ten minutes until the top of the Mea hill, almost four hundred meters of altitude, which however adds little to the panorama.
Returning back, you arrive at the antennas of the Cervo hill. From here they descend several paths to the deer itself. I recommend taking the pedestrian one (Walk Only) that goes to the Casteleto hill. The hills between deer and Andora are often beaten by mountain bike cyclists, and the path "Walk Only" therefore offers to walk hikers a little more than tranquility. In addition, going down from the Cervo hill towards the Castellaro Colle you admire beautiful views of Cervo, San Bartolomeo al Mare and Diano Marina.
The most spectacular panoramic point is the so-called "jump in the blue", which allows to take splendid photos both to walkers and to very skilled cyclists.
Going down to the casteleto colle, approaches the sea and is an dirt (which also represents the shorter trekking itinerary between Andora and Cervo, but the climb to the hill of Cervo, even if he extends the path and increases the height difference, worth Absolutely fatigue for the views!). With the dirt road, we reach the municipal park of Ciapà, which occupies the stretch of hilly forest closest to Cervo.
Here there are several paths that intercheck: some descend towards the sea, others remain on the coast and thus make it possible to arrive at the top of the village of Cervo. This splendid historic center is small, but it goes calmly among the narrow alleys, the arches, the church of San Giovanni Battista and the two squares sea view.
You can then get off at the beach and then go back to Andora, if you left the car there. Buses connect deer to Marina of Andora and take a few minutes. Alternatively, you can also walk on the way back, not along the Aurelia (which would be faster, but it has no sidewalks and is busy), but on the lower path that passes to the Costa Al Colle Casteleto.
Good trip! !
