If you are looking for paths with spectacular views of the Ligurian Sea, you have to go to Framura, Bonassola and Levanto. For real. The hiking itinerary that connects these three beautiful villages is immersed in nature, easy and uncrowded and has nothing to envy to the trekking paths in the very close and well more famous. The other beautiful thing is that Framura, Bonassola and Levanto are also linked by Cyclopedonale in the old train galleries . You can therefore take a route to the first leg and the other on the return, or a mix of the two, or even dedicate two days to the exploration of these areas. They deserve them!
The train is the best way to reach the villages and departures of the trails. If you start the trek by framura, even the car is an option, but only outside the summer season, because the parking lots are few.
To reach the path to Bonassola from Framura station, you have to walk in the Road gallery until it comes over the marina: from here, you go up using the staircase that cuts the road to the fraction of Vandarecca. If you arrive by car, park over anzo and seize the opportunity to admire the old houses of his hamlet.
At this point you walk along the asphalt road of Vandarecca until ends and becomes a path (always follow the white-red flag sign). Thus we immerse us in the Mediterranean scrub, with beautiful views of the sea.
The path between Framura and Bonassola takes about a couple of hours, at a quiet pace, for a total of 200 meters in altitude that, for the most part, are taken in the initial part of the itinerary. The first truly spectacular panoramic point is a rock overlooking the sea from which we can see all the clarity of the water between Framura and Bonassola. We also note the particular red color taken by the cliffs in this stretch of coast.
The path continues immersed in greenery, with some ups and downs; At a certain point the junction for Montaretto , interesting and panoramic village that requires further uphill effort. Consider it for a drink at bargain prices at the Communist House of the Popolo. Continuing to Bonassola continue to admire beautiful sea views, including vineyards and olive groves and the SCA beach trail .
When just a quarter of an hour is missing in Bonassola, a deviation to the right leads to the jump of the hare. It is absolutely worthwhile to follow it, because it just stretches the itinerary and offers one of the most beautiful views of the trekking. The jump of the hare is in fact a rocky promontory overlooking the sea, the most protruding end of the coast between Framura and Levanto.
After the jump of the hare you can resume the path to Bonassola, of which you soon have a panoramic view. Bonassola is a characteristic sea village equipped with a long beach, perhaps one of the most beautiful in Liguria. In summer it is very crowded, as well as covered with umbrellas, while out of season you can admire it in all its splendor.
Bonassola is really picturesque, with its Ligurian houses on the small square and the pedestrian alleys. If it were not for the raised road that separates the historic village from the sea (road that was once the old railway, and that today is part of the cyclopedonal from Framura in Levanto), it would really be one of the most fascinating places in the world!
After admiring the village and relaxing at the beach, you can continue towards Levanto. Cross Bonassola and, instead of following the cyclopedonal, turned into the interior, always following the white-red sign. Therefore, among the houses the path to Levanto, which requires no more than an hour and a half to a slow pace.
This itinerary is slightly more built than the framura one (different villas meet and cross the road in a couple of points), but not for this lack of beautiful views.
When you arrive at the highest point, at 163 meters above sea level, the view opens onto Levanto bay, surrounded by greenery. While trekking you can see that you are surrounded by the Mediterranean scrub and, if you are hungry, in season you can also find barbouples and pears of India.
The last part of the itinerary consists of a steep staircase that precipitates Levanto along the gardens of some amazing villas.
The arrival in the city allows you to refrain and take a bath. The first beaches you meet, close to the cliffs, are those with the clearest water.
To return to the starting point, you can walk along Le Galleries from Levanto to Framura as described here (water that laps the rocks along the cyclopedonalon is fantastic), or you can take the train more comfortably.
This itinerary is one of the many trails between Genoa and Tuscany, all paths and all described to this Page on trekking in Liguria . To travel the whole riviera from west to east, the previous stage is that between Deiva a framura , while the next route leads to Levanto, Punta Mesco and Monterosso .
A very panoramic alternative is the excursion from Bonassola to Monte Rossola, described here .
